TFD: Metropolitan Stadium would cost $67 million in today's dollars

Need any more evidence of how times have changed? (No.)

Well, we're giving it to you anyway. Metropolitan Stadium was built for $8.5 million. Using its opening date of 1956 as a frame of reference, we have adjusted using our handy inflation calculator to determine that the sum would be about $67 million in today's dollars (actually 2010 dollars, but that's the best the calculator can do).

That is significantly less than $1 billion.
