The legend of Donovan McNabb in the Ultimate Hoops League keeps growing. McNabb, who is almost certainly the only member of Greatest Team Ever who has an NFL team mug shot as his rec league basketball mug shot, had 14 points and added 10 rebounds in helping his team to an 89-87 victory. Fans are presumably already predicting it won't last and are making plans to call for a mid-season injection of Christian Ponder, who almost certainly would have had at least 15 and 11 last night.
Eyewitness accounts indicated McNabb might not have been in peak physical condition, but you can be the judge. There are a handful of McNabb shots in this Ultimate Hoops Facebook gallery (toward the end), and Deadspin has also jumped into the fray.
Preliminary plans for a field trip are underway. Gleeman says he has a McNabb Eagles jersey he can wear, which only fuels our enthusiasm.
