Jett Walker, the Georgetown, Texas, three-star running back in the 2026 class who gave a verbal commitment to the Gophers on Nov. 3, has changed his mind and has committed to Texas. Walker announced his decision Sunday on the X social media platform.

Walker, 6-2 and 210 pounds, is the 24th-ranked running back nationally in the 247Sports composite ratings of major recruiting services. He has rushed for 1,486 yards and 24 touchdowns this season after amassing 2,351 yards and 37 TDs as a junior in 2024. He’s rushed for 5,846 yards in his prep career, averaging 9.1 yards per carry and 139.2 yards per game.

Walker originally committed to West Virginia on April 2, then received an offer from the Gophers on Oct. 27 and visited for the Nov. 1 game against Michigan State. Texas extended an offer on Nov. 13, and he visited the Longhorns this weekend.

On Saturday, the Gophers received 2026 class commitment from wide receiver Quayd Hendryx from Winslow Township High School in Atco, N.J. Hendryx, 5-11 and 175 pounds, is a three-star recruit who originally committed to Connecticut in July but received offers from the Gophers, Nebraska and West Virginia in early November. He made his official visit to Minnesota on Nov. 9.

The three-day early signing period begins Dec. 3. As of Sunday night, the Gophers’ 2026 class ranked 24th nationally and sixth in the Big Ten in the 247Sports composite ratings.
