Texas linebacker Bryson Jackson commits to Gophers

Bryson Jackson, from Mansfield, Texas, is rated among the top 80 linebacker recruits in the country by Scout.com.

The Gophers landed a linebacker recruit Tuesday, when Bryson Jackson, a 6-2, 195-pound senior from Mansfield, Texas, gave them a verbal commitment.

Jackson is a consensus three-star recruit who also had reported offers from Boise State, Colorado State, Houston, Nevada and Southern Miss. Scout.com has him ranked as the nation's 76th best linebacker recruit.
