About 40 Targeteers dodged thunderstorms last Thursday to take part in a national partnership that builds and repairs homes for the needy.
The Minneapolis-based retailer partnered with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and Energizer (yes as in the batteries and the bunny) to work on a home in North Minneapolis that was damaged in last year's tornados.
Plus, there was a special guest in the mix: Target IndyCar driver Scott Dixon, who reportedly wielded a hammer with the best of them. Dixon is a two-time IZOD IndyCar series champion and Indianapolis 500 Winner.
The Energizer Bunny was on hand, too, proving once and for all that you can renovate and wear fur at the same time!
Seriously, though. Energizer, part of St. Louis, Mo.-based Energizer Holdings, has donated more than $350,000 and 1,500 volunteer hours to Habitat through a 13-city series of volunteer projects to help build new homes and revitalize existing homes with local families in need of improved housing.
