Target Corp. has struck up a partnership with Latin music titan Emilio Estefan, who will curate a special selection of his favorite music, movies and books for the discount giant.

Estefan's picks will be featured in the Entertainment department of Target stores beginning June 6.

The 59-year-old Cuban-American mogul (and the husband of Gloria Estefan) put Latin music on the pop charts in the 1980s as the founder of the Miami Sound Machine. Since then, he has been nominated for more than 30 Grammy awards, winning 19 of the music industry's top honor.

Estefan has been instrumental in developing the careers of his superstar wife, along with Shakira, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Jon Secada and Jennifer Lopez.

"Working with Target provided me with the opportunity to reach Latin music fans by sharing what inspires me," Estefan said in a statement.

John Butcher, vice president of Entertainment at Target, says Estefan's picks will add "a new and interesting dimension to our current offerings."

In addition to his entertainment picks, Estefan will help create Target-exclusive Latin music artist partnerships. Minneapolis-based Target says it has a long history of collaborating with artists across music genres to offer guests content they can't get anywhere else.
