TaMarion Johnson, a defensive end previously committed to Miami (Ohio), committed to the Gophers on Wednesday, as part of national signing day.

The 6-5, 205-pound Johnson is a consensus three-star recruit from Bradford Academy in Southfield, Mich. He also had reported offers from Purdue and Iowa State. Johnson hails from the same city (Southfield), but not the same school as defensive backs Ray Buford and Dior Johnson, who redshirted for the Gophers last fall.

Johnson gives the Gophers three defensive linemen in the class that's expected to sign Wednesday, for national signing day. He joins defensive tackle Merrick Jackson (Iowa Western Community College) and defensive end Taiyon Devers (Georgia Prep Sports Academy).
