The photographer: Brad Benson of Minnetonka. The scene: Benson wanted to capture the Taj Mahal at sunset from the north bank of the Yamuna River in Agra and came across a group of children herding goats. They asked Benson to take their photo. "They were all quite pleased to see their photos displayed on the back of my camera. These children were herding their family's goats , but the area was guarded by the army/security staff, hence the barb wire," he explained in an e-mail.

Jewish Museum shows Vuillard's wide range French painter Edouard Vuillard is the subject of a rich, beautiful and well balanced retrospective at the Jewish Museum in New York City. He was best known as a visionary painter of densely woven, domestic interiors. But as the exhibit "Edouard Vuillard: A Painter and His Muses, 1890-1940" bears out, he was also a master of portraiture, landscape, playbills, posters and the decorative mural. And he got better with age. The exhibit runs through Sept. 23 at the museum, at 1109 5th Av. Information: 1-212- 423-3200; www.thejewishmuseum.org.
