The Gophers women's basketball program is expected to announce some good news this week. Amanda Zahui B., a 6-5 center from Stockholm, Sweden, who signed a national letter of intent to play for the team in May but was later ruled out for this fall while working through an NCAA eligibility issue, has resolved the issue and is expected to be eligible by late December, in time for the Big Ten season. She will re-sign her letter of intent in the next couple of days.

Zahui B., 19, is regarded as one of the top young players in Sweden. She averaged 15.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game in her first season of 18U Euros.

The Gophers open exhibition play at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Concordia (St. Paul) at Williams Arena. The regular season opens Nov. 10 against Washington State in the Best Buy Classic at Williams Arena.
