A little more than 24 hours after rallying for an overtime victory over Toronto in its National Lacrosse League season opener, the Swarm dominated Toronto 11-4 on Saturday at Xcel Energy Center.
The Swarm led 6-2 at halftime and 9-4 after three quarters. Swarm goalkeeper Nick Patterson stopped 40 of the 44 shots he faced and held the Rock scoreless over the final 20 minutes, 21 seconds.
The Swarm led 7-2 early in the third quarter before the Rock scored twice, making it 7-4. Goals by Ryan Ward and Chad Culp restored the Swarm's five-goal lead.
Ward scored three goals and added an assist.
Dean Hill and Sean Pollock each contributed two goals for the Swarm, while Andy Secore added a goal and four assists.
