'PINOCCHIO'

Thursday: For more than a decade, British director Greg Banks has imaginatively re-interpreted many a classic at the Children's Theatre, including "Robin Hood," "Antigone" and "Romeo and Juliet." While fond of the promenade style of staging, Banks is not wedded to it. His new version of Carlo Gollodi's "Pinocchio," for example, is a traditional sit-and-watch affair that features a physically deft performing quartet of Bradley Greenwald, Maggie Chestovich, Elise Sanger and Dean Holt as Geppetto, the puppet that wants to be human. Victor Zupanc provides the music. (Previews 7 p.m. Tue.-Thu., opens 7 p.m. Fri. Ends Feb. 24. Children's Theatre, 2400 3rd Av. S., Mpls. $10-$56. 612-874-0400 or childrenstheatre.org.)
