Ducks' roll continues on home ice
ANAHEIM, CALIF. – Ryan Kesler had two goals and an assist, John Gibson made 22 saves and the Anaheim Ducks returned from a lengthy road trip with their fifth consecutive victory, 5-2 over the Calgary Flames on Sunday night.
Ryan Getzlaf extended his point streak to eight games with a third-period goal for the streaking Ducks, who have won 12 of 14 to improve to 19-4-2 since Christmas.
•COOLER HEAD PREVAILS: A day after losing his cool in a loss to Tampa Bay, Kris Letang showed patience against the Sabres' aggressive forecheck, setting up three goals in a 4-3 win at Buffalo. The Penguins beat Buffalo for the eighth consecutive time and also got goals from Patric Hornqvist, Phil Kessel and Matt Cullen.
•STILL SLIDING: The Red Wings lost their sixth consecutive road game, 1-0 to the Rangers on Kevin Klein's goal at 1:59 of overtime. Henrik Lundqvist made 22 saves in recording his fourth shutout.
•LIGHTNING TRAVELS WELL: Ryan Callahan scored twice and Steven Stamkos had a goal and an assist for the visiting Lightning in a 4-2 victory over the Hurricanes. Ben Bishop had 29 saves and improved to 6-1 in his career against Carolina.
