Okposo and Clutterbuck star vs. Stars
NEW YORK – Kyle Okposo had two goals and an assist, Cal Clutterbuck scored twice and the New York Islanders beat the NHL-best Dallas Stars 6-5 on Sunday.
Anders Lee had a goal and an assist, and Mikhail Grabovski also scored to help the Islanders win for the fourth time in six games and improve to 4-0-1 in their past five against the Stars.
"I feel good, and we're feeling good," Clutterbuck said. "The key is to keep this going and peak at the right time."
New York trailed 2-1 in the first period before scoring the next four goals. The Stars, coming off an overtime defeat at New Jersey the previous night, lost consecutive games for the first time this season.
•MORE ZEROES: Corey Crawford made 26 saves in his NHL-leading sixth shutout, helping the Chicago Blackhawks top the Ottawa Senators 3-0 for their third straight win. Duncan Keith and Artem Anisimov scored for Chicago, which also got an empty-net goal from Andrew Desjardins.
•ON THE MOVE? The agent for Tampa Bay forward Jonathan Drouin said the third overall pick in the 2013 NHL draft has requested a trade from the Lightning. Agent Allan Walsh said in a statement released Sunday — one day after Drouin was assigned to Syracuse of the American Hockey League — that he formally made the request in November. Drouin was a healthy scratch for most of Tampa Bay's run to last year's Stanley Cup Final.
