Celtics beat Knicks to win fourth straight
BOSTON – Isaiah Thomas had a pair of key baskets and finished with 21 points, Evan Turner scored 19 and the Boston Celtics won their fourth straight with a 100-91 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday night.
Jae Crowder scored 18 points and Kelly Olynyk added 11 points and nine rebounds for Boston. Thomas added eight rebounds and six assists.
Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 29 points despite shooting just 11-for-26. Kristaps Porzingis had 16 points and 12 rebounds.
New York, which shot just 37.1 percent, lost its fourth straight.
The Celtics opened an 88-78 lead on Turner's driving basket with 6:11 to play, but the Knicks cut it to 90-85 before Thomas had consecutive driving baskets to push the lead back to nine.
•SHOOTING STARS: The host Thunder shot a season-best 57.8 percent from the field as they beat the Nuggets 122-112.
•MARC LEFT: Marc Gasol scored 16 points and passed Shareef Abdur-Rahim (7,801 points) for fourth on the Grizzlies' scoring list during the 112-96 victory over the visiting Lakers.
•JAZZ LOSE BURKS: Alec Burks is out indefinitely after breaking his left lower leg against the Clippers on Saturday. Burks played in every game this season, averaging a career-high 14.3 points.
•MENISCUS SIDELINES BLEDSOE: Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe will have surgery Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Bledsoe is averaging career highs of 20.4 points, 6.1 assists and 2.0 steals in 31 games this season.
