North Dakota advances in Game 3

• NORTH DAKOTA 4, COLORADO COLLEGE 3: Brendan O'Donnell scored early in the third period, and Zane Gothberg made 27 saves as second-seeded North Dakota hung on to beat the Tigers in the decisive third game of the NCHC first-round series in Grand Forks. Colorado College cut the lead to 4-3 on Alex Roos' goal with 1:29 left, but UND survived to move into a Frozen Faceoff matchup against Miami (Ohio) on Friday night at Target Center. UND gives the NCHC one local draw in its inaugural Frozen Faceoff. St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth were knocked out Saturday.

• MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO 5, NORTHERN MICHIGAN 4 (OT): Zach Stepan's goal at 16:32 of overtime enabled the second-seeded Mavericks to sweep the best-of-three series. Bryce Gervais had two goals for MSU Mankato which outshot the Wildcats 58-32.

• ALASKA ANCHORAGE 5 ALASKA FAIRBANKS 4: Brad Duwe scored with 2:45 left in the third period, sending the sixth-seeded Seawolves to a victory over the third-seeded Nanooks in the decisive third game in Fairbanks. The Nanooks' Alec Hajdukovich had tied it 4-4 with 5:13 left.
