Huskers stop Spartans

• NEBRASKA 73, NO. 17 MICHIGAN STATE 66: Jessica Shepard scored 26 points Sunday, Natalie Romeo had 25 and the host Cornhuskers (17-8, 8-6 Big Ten), coming off a 37-point loss to the Gophers, ended a 10-game losing streak vs. ranked teams by beating the Spartans (18-7, 9-5). Shepherd became the first Huskers freshman to surpass 500 points. Romeo hit five three-pointers, the last giving her a school record 86 for the season.

• NO. 5 MARYLAND 79, NORTHWESTERN 70: Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored 27 points, powering the Terrapins (23-3, 12-2) past the host Wildcats (14-12, 3-11) for their 11th victory in 12 games. Hopkins' Nia Coffey had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Northwestern, which has lost eight of nine.

• NO. 7 OHIO STATE 77, PENN STATE 63: Ameryst Alston made eight three-pointers and scored 26 points, leading the Buckeyes (21-4, 13-1) past the host Lady Lions (9-16, 4-10) for their ninth victory in a row.

• MICHIGAN 68, PURDUE 61: Katelynn Flaherty had 17 points and the Wolverines (15-10, 7-7) used a late 7-0 run to pull away from the host Boilermakers (16-9, 7-7).

• NO. 9 ARIZONA STATE 63, NO. 13 STANFORD 61 (OT): Sophie Brunner hit a shot at the overtime buzzer as the Sun Devils (22-4, 13-1 Pac-12) beat the host Cardinal (20-6, 10-4) for the fourth meeting in a row. Brunner scored the final four points of the game,

and she also made one of two free throws near the end of regulation to tie the score for Arizona State, which won for the 19th time in 20 games.

• NO. 21 OKLAHOMA 74, NO. 6 TEXAS 56: Vionese Pierre-Louis scored 17 points and the host Sooners (17-7, 8-5 Big 12) used a big fourth quarter to run past the Longhorns (22-2, 11-2). Texas led 49-45 after three but was outscored 29-7 in the final period.
