Three observations ... • Through 13 weeks, the NFL is averaging 679.2 yards per game, including 453 passing yards. That would break the records for yards per game (670.3) set in 2009, and passing yards (441.6) set in 1995.

• There are 11 quarterbacks with a touchdown-to-interception ratio of better than 2-to-1 (minimum 200 attempts). That would tie the record set in 2008. Michael Vick's 7.5-to-1 ratio (15-2) leads the way.

• Houston's Arian Foster, who leads the league in rushing with 1,230 yards, is trying to join former Chiefs star Priest Holmes (2001) as the only undrafted players since 1967 to lead the league in rushing.

Two predictions ... • With Matt Cassel doubtful against the Chargers, Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle will fall to 0-10 as an NFL starter.

• The Patriots' NFL-record streak of four games with at least 30 points and no turnovers will end in Chicago.
