Andy Grammer

5:30 p.m. • Varsity Theater • all ages • sold out

Known best for his infectiously uplifting 2010 smash single "Keep Your Head Up," Grammer returned last year with "Magazines or Novels," the follow-up to his eponymous debut. The likable L.A. native combines an array of popular influences, from John Mayer and Jason Mraz's pleasant guitar sounds to Coldplay and the Fray's sophisticated piano soundscapes. Joining Grammar on the Good Guys & a Girl tour are Alex & Sierra, a young couple who won the third season of "The X Factor" with their romantic and accessible pop music. Paradise Fears, an alt-rock act from South Dakota, opens. Alex Nelson

The Preatures

8 p.m. • Triple Rock • 18-plus • $12-$15

Initially a Rolling Stones cover band, these Australian rockers came into a style of their own when they augmented retro grooves with a brisk, soulful rock sound. In fact, their fun 2013 single "Is This How You Feel?" was nominated for handful of songwriting awards and named a Best New Track by Pitchfork. There's plenty to admire about the quintet, but lead singer Isabella Manfredi's vocal prowess, combined with Spoon drummer Jim Eno's fantastic production on last year's debut album "Blue Planet Eyes," really steals the show. Garage-punk band the Bots and garage-pop act Bloods Band open. A.N.

Stevie Wonder

8 p.m. • Target Center • $39.50-$149.50

A marketing-savvy producer dubbed the 11-year-old musician Little Stevie Wonder. What a prophetic decision, because Stevie turned out to be one of the most revered musicmakers of our time, with catchy, creative songs about relationships and social issues. He's performed for presidents, kings and queens; recorded with some of music's biggest names; visited the top of the charts many times, and won rooms full of awards. What he hasn't done is perform live very often. It's been 27 years since his last Twin Cities performance, at the old St. Paul Civic Center. Wonder is set to perform his 1976 album, "Songs in the Key of Life," in its entirety.Jon Bream
