A 46-year-old Hennepin County jail inmate died Tuesday morning, an apparent suicide, authorities said.

The man was found unresponsive in his cell from an apparent suicide attempt at 10:45 a.m. Deputies began CPR, and paramedics continued emergency medical treatment and took him to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died, according to a news release from Hennepin County.
The man, who was being held on a charged of criminal sexual conduct after being arrested by Minneapolis police, had been in jail for 12 days.
The county declined to release further information Tuesday. The county medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy and release the official cause of death and the inmate's name.
