Bold, fiery and always chic -- red instantly adds heat to your fall wardrobe. This season's must-have hue can be worn as a splash of color or head-to-toe for full dramatic effect. Mix it in with any neutral such as camel, black, beige, white or navy. You can also treat red as a neutral by mixing different shades together for a tone-on-tone look. Here are a few pieces to get you started.1. A runway look by Diane von Furstenberg.

Footloose Fashions

During a recent trip across the country, Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald dropped by the Mall of America. The stars of the "Footloose" remake (opening Friday) gave us a glimpse of their off-screen style, which doesn't include Hough's character's iconic red cowboy boots. Still, she looked plenty fierce in a Helmut Lang jacket and Jimmy Choo heels. Wormald wore a shirt by Vince and Converse shoes.

Pick of the week

LINE KNITWEAR BLANKET CARDIGAN $358, Stephanie's, 758 S. Cleveland Av., St. Paul, 651-690-3802, stephaniesshop.com.

Toss aside your slankets and snuggies. This draped-front hooded cashmere cardigan has a laidback feel, but boasts a classy look. Plus, you can belt it and wear it to work. A snuggie will never qualify as office wear.
