Stylepoints: Back-to-school fashion that scores

We met a few members of the South St. Paul High School (SSP) girls' hockey team while they were shopping at the Mall of America. On the rink, these athletes wear shoulder pads, jerseys and game faces, but in school, they go with a different uniform -- jeans. The goal-oriented group showed how they're warming up their fall wardrobes for the first day of class.

What are you wearing? Shirt from Rue21, jeggings from American Eagle and backpack from Wal-Mart.

How often do you repeat outfits? I try not to.

Q Your Minnesota fans were shocked to see you go home so soon.

A It was a surprise to me, too.

Q Did you think the judges were harsh?

A When you're on the runway, it's a surreal experience. It's hard to believe they're talking about you and your work. The comments can be abusive and not productive.

Q What's next for you?

Q Now that you're off the show, who are you rooting for?

A My favorite is Kimberly. She's a super person who has been through a lot in her life.

Crosswalk fashion show: Cliché is taking its store to the streets. For two hours on Friday, the designs of locals Jenny Carle, Sarah M. Holm, Rachel Blomgren and Jenny Carle will be showcased near the intersection of 24th Street and Lyndale Avenue S.
