JESSICA RAE FREED, 24

Seamstress, fiber artist

Seen at: The Teenage Elixir show at Tarnish & Gold Gallery in Minneapolis.

What are you wearing? Sweater and boots from Savers. Black military tube dress from Buffalo Exchange, altered into a high-waist tulip skirt. Plaid mock-houndstooth cape by ComeAlongFawn.

Describe your style: Eclectic, feminine, DIY.

How do you combine art and fashion? Fashion has a better outcome if you think about it like art. Piecing together outfits is like working on a collage to me.

Which artist's style reflects your own? Anyone who incorporates symmetry and texture and uses elements differently than they should be used. A specific example is a modern eclectic artist in Atlanta named Cora Seymour.

What was one of your favorite nights out?: The Brother Ali New Year's show was amazing. Dada Trash Collage was DJ-ing in the VIP room with complimentary champagne and massages. Not to mention, there were confetti cannons. It was a good end to the year, for sure.
