What are you wearing? Joie dress, shoes by Simply Vera; and my fashionable 9-year-old niece, Anna, picked out the earrings for me at Claire's.
Describe your style: Thrifty. I live for the hunt. The majority of my favorite outfits are $50, head to toe. I love to mix color and textures. It's pure joy to hit the thrift shops in search of hidden treasures.
In summer do you go for fashion or function? Fashion and function must exist simultaneously. I live in dresses and skirts all summer long. It's so uncomplicated and comfortable. Simply switch out the flip-flops for some fabulous shoes, add a belt, some fantastic earrings or other cool statement piece. I can easily transition out of the playground and jet off to the party.
What's one piece of style advice you live by? Don't buy anything unless you absolutely love it. Why have a closet full of things you aren't crazy about? I'd prefer a few things that I adore than heaps of clothes that don't inspire me. I avoid getting caught up in a trend or a sale. I want to wear pieces that make me happy; if they happen to be trendy, so be it.
