The Huntdown Name: Cory Sauter Claim to Fame, Minnesota: quarterback, University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, 1994-1997. Holds the team record for pass completions, attempts, passing yards, and awkward-looking attempts at running the option (last one is unofficial). Prior to that, he was the all-State quarterback for perennial outstate power Hutchinson (editor's note: the high school sports editor portion of our job demands that we point out the Star Tribune considers Hutchinson to be part of the metro area. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, STU.) Claim to Fame, Everywhere Else: pulled 3rd-string/training camp/practice squad/clipboard-holding duty for Arizona, Detroit, Indianapolis and Chicago, but played in only one NFL game for (of course) the Chicago Bears in 2002. He also spent some time with the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe. Where He Is Now: Sauter went into coaching soon after his playing career ended, logging time as an assistant for the tremendously-named Hamburg Sea Devils and Berlin Thunder overseas and as a graduate assistant at the U. He parlayed that into his current gig as head coach of Southwest Minnesota State. He is married and has a daughter named Berlin, which is infinitely preferable to Hamburg. Is He On Twitter: if so, he hasn't done much. He is on the Facebook, I've been told. Glorious Randomness: as most readers know, Southwest Minnesota State is located in Marshall, known throughout Lyon County as the "Gateway to Ghent." It is perhaps better known as the home base for the Schwan Food Company. We were unable to confirm if the football team arrives at games in big tannish-yellow trucks before this Hunt Down went to press.

Eric Ramsay didn’t think his team played particularly well, but it didn’t matter as it left Missouri with three points in the MLS standings.
