The Star Tribune is recognizing four stars from the fall sports season with Metro Player of the Year honors in individual-based sports. The winners, clockwise from top left: senior Emily Covert, Minneapolis Washburn girls' cross-country, who also won the honor last year; junior Megan Phillip, Edina girls' swimming and diving; senior Acer Iverson, Roseville boys' cross-country, and junior Arlina Shen, Blake girls' tennis. They will be feted with our long-standing metro first teams and players of the year at our All-Metro Sports Award event in late June. C8
