They came, they nibbled, they voted.

At today's event at #StribHQ, more than 800 people gathered in the atrium of the Star Tribune Building in downtown Minneapolis to sample all five of our 2018 winning cookie recipes, and 513 cookie fans cast a ballot (technically, a "Star Tribune Green"-colored poker chip) for their favorite.

The top vote-getter in our own version of the People's Choice Awards was White Chocolate and Cherry Tea Cakes (pictured, above), with 132 votes. Find the recipe here.

Second place: Coffee and Irish-Cream Dreams, with 119 votes. Find the recipe here.

Third place: Sugar Plum Doodles, with 108 votes. Find the recipe here.

Fourth place: Our 2018 winner, Dark Chocolate Fig Rolls with Mocha Ganache, with 102 votes. Find the recipe here.

Fifth place: Marzipan Cherry Shortbread, with 52 votes. Find the recipe here.

How would you vote? Why not bake all five and have a competition of your own?

Here's another option: Visit the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 12:30 to 3 p.m., when all five of our winning bakers will be handing out free samples of their cookies (an admission ticket is required).

Thanks to all who voted – and for the folks who donated $804 (plus two giant barrels of non-perishable food items) to Second Harvest Heartland -- and thanks to the cast of the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres production of "Holiday Inn" for providing the entertainment.
