THURSDAY-SATURDAY
'Stripe Tease'
Minneapolis choreographer Chris Schlichting is known for his subtly subversive, pattern-prone, meticulously crafted works and for his thoughtful use of music and visual art — as in his 2013 production "Matching Drapes." With "Stripe Tease," Schlichting builds on a 2013 commission from the Walker Art Center with a couple of locals also known for nuanced, pattern-heavy work: visual artist Jennifer Davis and art-rock band Alpha Consumer. The latter will perform an original composition to accompany the dance performance, while Davis will provide some colorful set pieces. Schlichting will play off both in his choreography, balancing all-out spectacle with intimate moments. (8 p.m. Thu.-Sat. $22-$25; sold out Thu. McGuire Theater at Walker Art Center, 1750 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. www.walkerart.org.) Jahna Peloquin
