Opening

The Seattle Children's Theatre is sending personnel, both onstage and off-, to the Twin Cities this new year. Offstage, its managing director, Tim Jennings, assumes the same position at the Children's Theatre in a matter of weeks. Onstage, the SCT's adaptation of Crockett Johnson's classic "Harold and the Purple Crayon" children's books previews Tuesday. The show, like the books themselves, is about a character who draws himself into and out of corners. Composer Auston James and lyricist Rob Burgess collaborated with Don Darryl Rivera, who plays Harold, on the production that Rita Giomi directs.
