Circus Juventas’ ‘Oz’
Opens Friday: Circus Juventas, the St. Paul-based youth company founded in 1994, is going to “Oz” this year for its annual summer spectacular. Under artistic director Betty Butler, the troupe will deliver a Cirque du Soleil-style show filled with characters and scenes from “The Wizard of Oz,” all with a circus twist. The wicked witch descends from on high in a rotating cube. The flying monkeys attack on a wall trampoline. And the Tin Man, bless his longed-for heart, spins around the stage on a giant wheel. (7 p.m. Fri., 1 & 7 p.m. Sat., 1 p.m. Sun. & Wed., 7 p.m. Thu. Ends Aug. 18. 1270 Montreal Av., St. Paul, $14-$35. 651-699-8229 or www.CircusJuventas.org.)
