St. Paul Humboldt at a glance

Football: The team, after losing all nine of its games last season, will not field a varsity team in the fall. The school, which last won a conference championship in 1974, hopes to restore its varsity program in the fall of 2017.

Basketball: The school has not made a boys' state tournament appearance since winning a state championship in 1949.

Baseball: Humboldt was the state tournament runner-up in 1965, its only appearance in school history.

Last state tournament team appearance: 2011, boys' soccer.

Student profile: 27 percent come from the West Side. Forty percent of Humboldt's students are Asian, 34 percent black, 19 percent Latino, 6 percent white and 1 percent American Indian. Ninety-four percent qualify for free or reduced lunch.
