A St. Paul fire truck crashed with a car in downtown St. Paul on Saturday, leaving two people hurt — one with life-threatening injuries.
The crash occurred around Cedar Street and E. 7th Street shortly before 7 p.m., according to St. Paul police.
A 76-year-old Northfield woman sustained life-threatening injuries after the Chevrolet Malibu she was in crashed with the fire truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. A 77-year-old Northfield man in the car was also hurt, but his injuries were reportedly not life-threatening, the State Patrol reported.
Police said both people were taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
None of the fire truck occupants were injured, according to the Minnesota State Patrol, which is investigating the situation since it involved a St. Paul vehicle. There were four people in the fire truck, and the driver was a 39-year-old St. Paul man, the State Patrol said.
