St. Mary's, St. Thomas advance to MIAC women's basketball final

• ST. THOMAS 71, CONCORDIA (MOORHEAD) 56: The third-seeded Tommies pulled away in the second half for a victory over the semifinals of the MIAC women's basketball playoffs in Moorhead on Thursday night. The Tommies outscored the Cobbers 42-28 in the second half to avenge two regular-season losses to Concordia. Kelly Brandenburg scored 19 points and Elaine Warner scored 18 to lead the Tommies (24-4). Alexandra Lippert had 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Cobbers (21-6).

• ST. MARY'S 94, BETHEL 63: Bridget Pethke scored 23 points to lead the regular-season champion Cardinals past the visiting Royals. The Cardinals (24-2) will play host to St. Thomas on Saturday for the championship. Darcey Rice added 15 points for the Cardinals. Kalli Zimmermann and Hannah Niewald each scored 14 to lead the Royals (20-7).
