St. John's falls 31-14 to Wisconsin-Oshkosh

The Johnnies narrowed the margin to three points going into the fourth quarter but the Titans scored two touchdowns to seal the victory.

Dylan Hecker rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns to lead Wisconsin-Oshkosh to a 31-14 victory over St. John's on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Hecker's second touchdown -- a 16-yard run -- gave the Titans a 16-7 lead early in the third quarter of the game played in Oshkosh.

The Johnnies, ranked No. 9 in Division III, scored to pull within three points (17-14) going into the fourth quarter. But Devon Linzenmeyer scored on a 72-yard run in the first minute of the fourth quarter to restore a 10-point lead for the No. 4-ranked Titans (11-1).

Late in the fourth quarter, Hecker capped an 8-play, 47-yard drive with a 20-yard touchdown run.

Dusty Krueger rushed for 119 yards and Jackson Erdmann threw two touchdown passes for the Johnnies (10-2).
