Authorities charged a St. Cloud woman with felony child abuse after police found her twin toddlers tied up.
Maimuna Mohamed Mohamud, 30, was charged in Stearns County District Court with two counts of felony malicious punishment of a child. She was being held in the county jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
According to the charges, police responded Monday to the 1900 block of Quarry Road after receiving a report that the children, who were 2 years old, were being mistreated. Officers found them lying on the floor in separate bedrooms, their wrists and ankles tightly bound by cloth strips.
Their ankles and wrists were bruised, apparently from being tied up, the charges said. Mohamud was scheduled to appear in court later this month.
