When Spring Lake Park's Jackson Dahl recovered an onside kick with 1:20 left in the game and his team trailing Robbinsdale Armstrong 23-21, teammate Zachary Ojile said one thought came to his mind: "Here's one more chance to win." The Spring Lake Park quarterback took that opportunity and ran with it. Or rather, Ojile first faked a handoff, then burst left for a 35-yard touchdown run that pushed unbeaten Spring Lake Park past the Falcons. Ojile and running backs Luke Stafford and Isley Carrington combined for four TDs.
Key of the game: Dahl's onside kick recovery. Spring Lake Park's offense appeared rejuvenated by the momentum-shifting play.
Quote: "The defensive end closed, the offensive line was getting movement and I just spaced the run. I always expect our team is going to fight to the end whether it's a win or a loss and that's what we did." — Ojile on his game-winning touchdown rush.
One thing to know: Robbinsdale Armstrong's Barber brothers are playmakers. Thomas Barber, a linebacker, limited Spring Lake Park's inside running attack and racked up two rushing touchdowns himself. Collis Barber was shifty running from the quarterback spot and played well overall despite multiple interceptions.
