After a spike this summer in break-ins and burglaries in Eden Prairie, police are warning residents to take more precautions.
This week, police had four reports of car break-ins and one burglary in the same night. In fact, police say that, since late July, they’ve received reports of 30 car break-ins, six garage burglaries and one stolen vehicle. This week’s crimes took place in the area of Eden Prairie Road and Spring Road, between Pioneer Trail and Flying Cloud Drive.
Police say it’s likely that multiple suspects are involved with the crimes, and ask the public to report any suspicious activity, shut overhead garage doors at night, lock all cars left in driveways overnight and don’t leave car keys, cash, credit cards, purses or electronic devices in cars parked in driveways overnight, even if cars are locked.
