THE KILLERS Monday: Still not as big a band as singer Brandon Flowers pretends it is, the Las Vegas quartet has nonetheless maintained the mid-level fan base and much of the critical respect it earned off its anthemic, dance-floor-baiting 2004 debut and the classic singles "Mr. Brightside" and "All These Things That I Have Done" (never mind the trying "Somebody Told Me"). The more Springsteen-esque follow-up album, "Sam's Town," stiffed in the States but sold well abroad. Flowers and Co. thankfully returned to a bouncier beat and bubblier melodies on their third disc, "Day and Age," which brings them back to town this week. Not only is it a better album this time, but the venue is also a clear improvement over 2007's disappointing Roy Wilkins show. French electro-pop group M83 opens. (7:30 p.m. Northrop Auditorium, University of Minnesota, 84 SE. Church St., Mpls. Sold out. 612-624-2345.)
