Spotlight: KDWB Jingle Ball

KDWB JINGLE BALL Monday: After Kanye West dropped the Ball last year -- he canceled at the last minute after his mother died, but still played other gigs --

local Top 40 outlet KDWB (101.3 FM) is making up for it with an especially high-profile lineup at its annual holiday bash this year. The show's big matchup was going to be Rihanna and her "Live Your Life" duet partner T.I., but then Rihanna's boyfriend Chris Brown decided to crash the party, too (as a "special guest appearance," whatever that means). T.I. is still sure to bring down the house, though, since the Atlanta rapper's new "Paper Trail" is one of this year's hottest-selling albums. Rihanna was certainly fun if uneven on tour with Kanye this year. The rest of the lineup includes this season's "American Idol" runner-up, David Archuleta; emo-pop band Girls Like Boys, and Rihanna's pal Shontelle. (7 p.m. Mon. $17-$103.30. Xcel Energy Center, W. 7th St. and Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul. 651-989-5151.)
