JAMES KIELKOPF:
THEN AND NOW PART II
Opening Saturday: In an informal retrospective spanning 45 years, St. Paul painter James Kielkopf will show his lyrical new geometric collages and paintings with pencil drawings and sculpture from the late 1960s and early 1970s. His colorful recent images are layered with pastel spheres and ovoids that appear to float and bob in watery voids. Their pretty colors and harmonic tones evoke sunny summer days that are a welcome alternative to the brisk winter season. (Opening reception 5-8 p.m. Sat., free. Thomas Barry Fine Arts, 530 N. 3rd St., Mpls. Ends Feb. 19, free. 612-338-3656 or www.thomasbarry.com)
