Spotlight: Har Mar Superstar

HAR MAR SUPERSTAR

Saturday: The last time Har Mar Superstar played a gig in his former hometown, he was more famous than Barack Obama. Not surprisingly, that extraordinary degee of celebrity has dwindled for rock's most unsexy -- but certainly not untalented -- sex symbol, who at his highest point toured with the Strokes and Chili Peppers, made out with Kate Moss and faced Ben Stiller in a dance-off in "Starsky & Hutch." He did some of the toning down himself last year by promoting an album from his straight-up indie-rock band, Sean Na Na. He was back in Supe mode this year, working with Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals in the new band Neon Neon, and now he's finally coming home in full Har Mar attire (or lack thereof) to help mark the Triple Rock's 10th anniversary. Nonplus and Red Bends open. (10 p.m. Sat., Triple Rock, 629 Cedar Av. S., Mpls. $12. 612-333-7399.)
