The second stop of the Big Bass Bonanza season has come and gone and my thumb is sore from catching so many bass!

Due to mechanical issues and my tournament partner being out of town, we went into this event without practice. So none the less, I knew the day would be very interesting.

My key bait for this event was drop shoting a Gulp leech or plastic finesse worm. I had extreme confidence in my hook ups by using a 1/0 Trokar Drop Shot hook. Being able to make long casts and feel the finicky bites was made easier by using my 7'2" Wright & McGill Drop Shot rod and Seaguar Inviz X Fluorocarbon line.

I was making casts to weedlines anywhere from 8 to 16 feet of water. Sometimes the bite would occur on the fall, while other times I had to pop the bait out of the weeds.

My partner and I were able to put a very quick limit in the boat and caught a lot of bass, but were only able to get one quality fish. We finished with a limit for 14.91 lb's and put us in 23rd place.

Our next stop for BBB is July 10th on Lake Ida. With three events left, we still have a lot of work left to make the TOC.

Stay tuned next week for a recap on an open tournament I'm fishing next weekend. To see the list of my remaining events for 2011, check out www.fishglenn.com.

Here is a video recap with the top 3 teams.
