MINNEAPOLIS PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD

When you run the parks, you're automatically the biggest dog in the adult sports world. Spring registration is currently open for outdoor sports (kickball, softball, sand volleyball) and indoor ones, too (basketball, dodgeball, indoor soccer). The sand volleyball season begins April 15; kickball, um, kicks off April 23 along with the softball season. League fees run from $142 (two-person sand volleyball) to just under $1,000 (softball), with most falling somewhere in the middle.

CITIES SPORTS CONNECTION

Locally owned and operated since 1992, Cities Sports Connection is currently registering for softball and kickball (seasons begin next week), soccer and touch football (starting later in April) and beach volleyball (starting mid-May). The fees vary by sport, with most hovering around $450. CSC uses both city park and school fields throughout Minneapolis and St. Paul.

MIDWESTERN UNCONVENTIONAL SPORTS ASSOCIATION

MUSA sprouted up in Milwaukee in 2000 as an adult kickball league. It has since branched out to six cities in three states, upping its offerings to include dodgeball, basketball and volleyball. MUSA plays on six metro fields -- three in Bloomington -- and fees run from $325 (no uniforms) to $475 (15 uniforms). The spring kickball registration deadline is April 9.
