Lindsey Vonn crashed in the women's World Cup super-G on Saturday in Crans Montana, Switzerland, although after an anxious wait she was able to ski down the course.

The four-time World Cup overall champion was visibly upset after reaching the finishing area and appeared to be crying as she was comforted by U.S. teammate Julia Mancuso.

Vonn said she raced despite not having fully recovered from food poisoning the night before. She pulled out of the Alpine combined race on Sunday, writing on Twitter: "Unfortunately after getting food poisoning and crashing today I don't feel healthy enough to safely race tomorrow so I will not be starting."

Vonn also withdrew from Friday's combined race because of dangerous conditions on the course.

Ilka Stuhec of Slovenia won Saturday's super-G race to move within 258 points of American Mikaela Shiffrin in the overall standings with nine races remaining. Shiffrin finished 13th, more than two seconds behind Stuhec.

• Norway's Kjetil Jansrud took a key step toward the men's downhill skiing World Cup title with victory in Kvitfjell, Norway. Jansrud beat Peter Fill of Italy by 0.08 seconds.
