LeGarrette Blount is bringing his power running to Philadelphia. The Eagles and Blount agreed on a one-year contract Wednesday, giving the team a bruising back to complement their group of smaller, speedy runners.
Blount led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns in 2016 while helping the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl. He ran for 1,161 yards, averaging 3.6 per carry.
He has 5,122 yards rushing in his career and 4.4 average yards per carry to go with 49 TDs.
• Former Florida defensive lineman and Browns draft pick Caleb Brantley will not be charged after he was accused of assaulting a woman. A lack of evidence and conflicting accounts from the woman who alleged she was assaulted by Brantley led state attorney Bill Cervone to announce there was not enough evidence to pursue charges against Brantley.

Two sentenced
Christopher Alonardo, who authorities say conspired with former NHL standout Kevin Stevens in a scheme to illegally sell prescription painkillers is headed to federal prison.
Alonardo was sentenced to more than a year behind bars after pleading guilty in December to oxycodone distribution charges. Stevens, a former Boston Bruin who was on two Stanley Cup championship teams, was sentenced to three years' probation.

College basketball: BYU forward Eric Mika announced he will remain in the NBA draft and hire an agent, ending his college playing career with two years of eligibility left. He averaged 20.3 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
Auto racing: Ed Carpenter turned the fastest lap by hitting 222.894 mph on the third day of Indianapolis 500 practice. Scott Dixon, the 2008 Indy 500 winner, was second at 222.599. JR Hildebrand was third at 220.553.
