New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker, already on injured reserve because of a shoulder injury, has undergone surgery on his hip.

The Jets say the hip surgery was deemed necessary after the former Gopher had an evaluation when he was placed on IR last week because of a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder.

The team says the anticipated recovery time for Decker's hip surgery is six months. When he's off crutches, he will have the surgery on his shoulder — with recovery time expected to be eight months.
