Spiders for baby Fascinating new research indicates that many songbirds intentionally stuff their chicks full of spiders during their first week of life, even though scrawny spiders are harder to find and offer less of a meal than fat caterpillars.

The reason? Spiders are full of an amino acids, which makes young birds smarter and bolder as adults.
