Temperatures topped 100 degrees in parts of the Southwest earlier this week as a wave of unseasonable heat baked the region. However, the record-breaking hot weather will not last much longer as the warm air continues to press eastward.

The region will remain very warm today, but will not be quite as hot as it has been. Coastal areas will begin to cool off first. By this weekend temperatures will cool back down to seasonable levels, thanks to a cold front pressing southward into the area.
