The Southern Theater, the Minneapolis arts venue in the throes of a financial crisis, has canceled several more shows.

In addition to the previously announced cancellation of Tuesday's International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) concert, the Southern announced Monday that it has scotched Shara Worden with yMusic (May 4-5), gender-bender Mx. Justin Vivian Bond (May 6), Tandem Dance (June 2-4) and the Johannes Wieland dance outfit (June 10-11).

The theater, 1420 Washington Av. S., is asking patrons to "consider converting their purchases into tax-deductible donations to the theater," said board chair Anne Baker. "We're not able to provide refunds at this time."

The theater is trying to raise $400,000 in a week or, officials say, it will have to shut down.
