Burnsville High senior wins water-use poster contest

Alyssa Vang, a senior at Burnsville High School, was the state's winner for the "H20 for Life" poster design competition, which asked students to create an educational poster related to the issues of water supply or clean water.

Her poster encourages students to use tap water instead of bottled water. As a prize, Vang received $50 and a water-bottle filling station for the high school. Vang is a member of the high school's new Green Team, which aims to reduce bottled water use and cut the school's daily waste by 50 percent.
