'Sons of Anarchy' takes Emmy snub in stride

LOS ANGELES -- "Sons of Anarchy," the most popular series in the history of the FX network, was snubbed by Emmy nominators, and that's just fine with one of the show's principal actors.

"I think they're corrupting," said Charlie Hunnam, alluding to the rivalries that award shows can spawn. "I'm glad we're not part of a force that can change the dynamic that we have as a cast. They have the potential of ruining a good thing."

Hunnam, whose show kicks off its third season Sept. 7, made his comments Tuesday at the TV critics press tour, where FX President John Landgraf announced the pickup of a new comedy from the team behind "Reno 911." "USS Alabama," which will be largely improvised, will take place in space.

Landgraf also said that "Louie," starring comedian Louis C.K., has been picked up for a second season.

Others on hand Tuesday included Katey Sagal, Danny DeVito, Aisha Tyler and Stacy Keach.
